Creative at the Core. Strategic at the Table

Creative Director, Communications Partner, and your Design Coach.

Hi, I'm Maggie Adams—I help businesses, brands, and design teams do better creative work. Whether that means stepping in as a strategic communications partner, developing an in-house design team that's underperforming, auditing a brand that's lost its way, or coaching a designer who's ready to level up—I bring 25+ years of hands-on creative industry experience to every engagement.

My work sits at the intersection of design, strategy, and communication. I don't just make things look good—I help organizations think clearly about how they show up visually, where the gaps are in their creative teams and messaging, and what it takes to build a brand that works consistently across every touchpoint.

On the consulting and creative direction side, I work with businesses as a strategic partner—helping leadership teams strengthen their communications, identify where their design and messaging are falling short, and build the internal capacity to sustain great creative work long-term. Clients have included MGM Mirage, the U.S. Air Force, municipal governments, nonprofits, and regional economic development organizations across the West.

On the education and coaching side, I've spent years teaching graphic design at the college level—developing curriculum, mentoring students from zero experience to job-ready, and helping working designers sharpen the professional skills that formal education rarely covers. Hundreds of my students are now working full-time in the industry.

Both sides of what I do come from the same place: a deep belief that great design is a strategic asset—and that most organizations and designers are closer to great than they think. They just need the right guidance to get there.
